Reliable Business Performance with Core i5 8th Gen

The quad-core Core i5 8th Gen processor handles Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams and Zoom calls, QuickBooks, Sage, web-based systems and research with ease. With 8 threads and turbo speeds up to 3.9GHz or 4.1GHz, it stays responsive with many browser tabs and documents open, and it is officially supported by Windows 11.

16GB RAM and Fast SSD Storage

Many refurbished laptops in this class come with 8GB. This T490s has 16GB of DDR4 memory, which keeps multitasking smooth for years. The RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded, so 16GB is the right choice. The 256GB SSD boots Windows in seconds and opens apps quickly, and it can be swapped for a larger M.2 SSD later.

14-Inch Full HD Touchscreen

The 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen lets you tap, scroll and zoom like on a phone, which is handy for browsing, reviewing PDFs and presentations. It has an anti-glare finish and 300 nits brightness, so it stays readable in a bright office. Note that the screen does not fold back like a 2-in-1; it opens like a normal laptop.

Thin, Tough ThinkPad Build

At about 1.35 kg and 16.7mm thin, the T490s is easy to carry between home, office and campus. It passed MIL-STD-810G tests for drops, vibration, dust and temperature, and the spill-resistant keyboard with TrackPoint is still one of the most comfortable for typing all day.

Thunderbolt 3, HDMI and Full-Size USB

Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C support charging, docks and external displays, while two USB-A ports and HDMI 1.4b connect flash disks, mice and projectors without adapters. Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 handle wireless connections.

Why the ThinkPad T490s Core i5 Price in Kenya Is Good Value
