Core i5 8th Gen and 16GB RAM Performance

The quad-core Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor, paired with 16GB of RAM, gives smooth multitasking for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, Sage and Zoom or Teams calls. 16GB is double what most budget laptops ship with, so you can keep many browser tabs and documents open without slowdowns. The SSD makes boot-up and file opening quick. It is not meant for gaming or heavy video editing.

Display and Keyboard

The 14-inch Full HD IPS screen is sharp and has wide viewing angles, which suits documents and spreadsheets. The ThinkPad keyboard is one of the most comfortable for long typing sessions, and it is spill-resistant. The red TrackPoint lets you move the cursor without leaving the keys.

Ports, Upgradeability and Build

Unusually for a slim laptop, the T480s has a full-size Ethernet port, plus HDMI, two USB-A ports and Thunderbolt 3 for docks and fast external drives. The 256GB SSD is a standard M.2 drive, so you can fit a larger SSD later. Memory is part soldered with one SO-DIMM slot, supporting up to 20–24GB in total. The chassis is tested to the MIL-STD-810G military standard for knocks, heat and dust.

Why the Lenovo ThinkPad T480s Price in Kenya Is Good Value

At this price you get a genuine business-class ThinkPad with 16GB of RAM, an SSD, a Full HD screen and Windows 11 Pro. New laptops at this price usually have slower processors, 8GB of RAM or less, and weaker build quality.

Who Should Buy the Lenovo ThinkPad T480s?

• University and college students in Nairobi and across Kenya
• Office staff, accountants and SMEs running Excel, QuickBooks and Sage
• Field workers and NGO staff who need a light, durable laptop
• Anyone who needs a wired Ethernet port without a dongle

Good to Know Before You Buy

• The screen is non-touch.
• It uses integrated graphics, so it is not suited to modern games or heavy 3D work.
• The battery is internal, and battery life on a refurbished unit is lower than when new.
• Wi-Fi 5 rather than Wi-Fi 6.

Tested Before Sale

Every refurbished unit is checked before it leaves our shop: we confirm the specs match this listing and test the screen, keyboard, battery, ports, Wi-Fi, webcam and speakers. You are welcome to test it yourself in our shop before you pay.
