Graphics and Display Output

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles office work, HD video and light photo editing, and the HDMI and Thunderbolt 3 ports let you connect an external monitor for a bigger workspace at your desk.

14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Touchscreen

The 14-inch Full HD IPS screen gives clear, sharp text for documents, spreadsheets and video calls, and the touchscreen makes scrolling, zooming and quick navigation easy.

8GB DDR4 and 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD

8GB of memory runs Office, email, browsers and video calls comfortably for everyday work. The 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD gives fast boot and app loading. The RAM on the T490s is soldered to the motherboard, but the SSD can be upgraded – ask us about a larger SSD.

Business-Ready Build and Security

The ThinkPad T490s is built for daily commuting and long working days, with a slim aluminium and magnesium chassis, the well-known ThinkPad keyboard with TrackPoint, a spill-resistant design, a TPM 2.0 security chip and a ThinkShutter webcam cover on many units. Fingerprint readers and keyboard backlights are found on many units.

Getting the Most from Your Laptop

Keep Windows and drivers updated, charge with the original or a quality USB-C charger, and avoid running the battery flat often to extend its life. Use the laptop on a hard surface for good airflow, and add an external monitor, mouse and keyboard at your desk for a comfortable full-time workstation setup.
